There is a moment, just after the water hits the leaves, when an infusion tells you what it is.
The aroma rises. Sometimes warm and spiced. Sometimes green and bright. Sometimes so quiet you have to lean in to find it.
A Planty infusion is built to make that moment honest.
Nothing in the cup that wasn’t in the field
In the Planty tea bag, what is inside is what was harvested. Dried leaves. Pieces of root. Spice. We have made the choice not to add any artificial additives, and to use organically grown ingredients. The ginger has to be good ginger. The lemongrass has to have been picked at the right moment. The turmeric has to have been dried properly.
It also means the infusion will not taste the same every time. A plant is not a formula. Its character shifts with the season, with the rain, with the day it was picked.
Bold, subtle, and the space between
Planty is built to play with your senses.
Some of our blends are bold. Island Vitality, with its ginger and guava leaves, lands warm and direct — the kind of cup that wakes the body up. Sunrise Boost, built around cinnamon and turmeric, is fragrant, grounding, faintly spicy. These are infusions that announce themselves.
Others are quieter. Tropical Zen pairs lemongrass with bamboo, and the bamboo asks you to slow down to find it. Black Citrus folds combava into Mauritian black tea, bright at the edges, steady underneath.
Part of drinking Planty consciously is noticing which kind of cup you are reaching for, and why. A morning that needs waking is not the same as an afternoon that needs settling. The infusion can meet you where you are.
A way of paying attention to what is around you
Planty grew out of a specific place, here in Mauritius.
The plants we use are plants that have lived on this island for a long time, tied into how Mauritians have eaten, healed, and gathered for generations. Ginger in the kitchen. Lemongrass in the garden. Turmeric in the cooking pot, and sometimes in the medicine cabinet. Cinnamon, combava, guava leaves — none of these are unknown here. They are ordinary, in the best sense of the word.
What Planty does is take that everyday botanical knowledge and put it in a sachet that fits a modern life. The plants are the same. You boil the water. You wait. You pay attention to what you drink, and to the fact that you are drinking it.
This is, in a small way, a reconnection. To the plants growing a few kilometres from where you live. To the people who grow them. To a way of taking care of yourself that does not depend on anything imported, processed, or oversold.
Conscious drinking, in practice
We use the word conscious carefully.
For Planty, conscious drinking means a few specific things. It means knowing what is in the cup. It means knowing where the plants came from, and that the people who grew them were treated fairly along the way; our supply is organic and Fair for Life certified.
It means noticing what you are tasting instead of drinking on autopilot.
That is the whole practice. Steep, breathe, taste, notice.
A small reset, available to anyone, made from plants that have been part of this island longer than most things on it.
