Some stories begin quietly, in the rhythm of daily craft, in landscapes that evolve and in the hands that carry them forward.
La Maison Corson is one of those stories.
Where it all began
The story begins in the late nineteenth century, when Jules Corson left Mauritius to study tea cultivation in Ceylon. He returned with Assam tea varieties, bringing seeds, and a vision. In 1886, the first five acres of tea were planted at the Jardin Expérimental, marking the beginning of Corson’s history as a pioneer in the local tea industry.
Over the years, the Corson Tea Estate evolved, experimenting with new flavors and approaches. Harvest after harvest, from these fields emerged a passion that traveled into Mauritian homes, shaping moments shared at breakfast tables, in afternoon pauses, and in family gatherings.
The hands behind the craft
Inside our factory, the craft of making tea is a language of patience and precision.
Rolling. Drying. Blending. Tasting. Each gesture reflects the dedication of our teams. Tea pickers and factory workers carry forward the expertise of the Maison.
Through their work, they maintain a living heritage, ensuring that La Maison Corson remains as authentic and genuine today as it was at its founding.
One Maison, three worlds
As we open this new chapter, Corson Tea Estate becomes La Maison Corson, a home for three distinct, complementary universes. Each has its own voice and personality, yet all share the same passion for tea.

A heritage that brings us together
Since 1886, our purpose has remained simple:
to bring people together over a cup of tea.
To offer moments of warmth and comfort.
To create connections across generations.
To celebrate the joy of gathering and the pleasure of taste.
La Maison Corson is evolving, yet its essence remains unchanged.
A heritage that grows while staying true to its foundations.
A taste that connects people across time and space.
A culture that belongs to all who have shaped it, and to all who will carry it forward.
We invite you to discover our three universes, to taste passion in every cup, and to share a story that is uniquely Mauritian.
